Homemade Salted Caramel

Description

Easy and quick salted caramel recipe! Perfect to use for baking, apple-dipping, and drizzling on just about anything!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 tbsp salted butter
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp sea salt (or table salt)

Instructions

  1. In a pan, melt the sugar on medium-high heat. Stir occasionally with a rubber spatula
  2. Once the sugar is all melted, it will have an amber colour. Then add the butter and stir constantly
  3. Once all the butter is melted, pour the heavy cream while still stirring and do not stop until you obtain a smooth caramel
  4. Boil for 1 minute and take the pan off the heat
  5. Add the salt, stir and let the caramel cool
  6. Store the caramel in the fridge for up to 2 weeks
