Have you ever tried homemade salted caramel? If the answer is no, you definitely need to try this recipe! Homemade salted caramel is SO MUCH BETTER than store-bought. And I’ll be honest, this salted caramel is quite addicting… I eat it with a spoon. yup. One of my friends actually requested a jar of salted caramel as her Christmas gift lol So see?! I’m not the only one who loves it!
You’ll need 4 ingredients for this recipe: sugar, salted butter, heavy cream and sea salt. The success of this recipe after that depends all on your timing. What I would recommend is having all your ingredients measured and ready to go before you even start melting the sugar. You’ll also want to use a deep sauce pan because you don’t want the caramel to boil over.
This salted caramel is perfect to use for all your baked good! I’ve used it to make a salted caramel buttercream, my salted caramel and white chocolate cookie skillet, and my salted caramel macarons. You can also use this recipe to dip your apples or to drizzle on crepes, french toasts, really just anything! I probably will make another batch this weekend for breakfast on Christmas Day! 😋
I hope this will become your go-to salted caramel recipe too! If you try it, don’t forget to leave a comment below or share a picture on instagram with the tag @mapleetchocolat and/or use #mapleetchocolat 🙂
